MY  TEACHING  PRACTICE  PLAN

THE EQUINE DIGESTIVE

SYSTEM

Learning Outcomes:
The general issue of the competence is the equine nutrition and feeding.
One important aspect is the needing of know the parts and functioning or physiology aspects of the digestive system of the horse. In this direction the outcomes that I consider more important for this specific example of teaching practice are:
The student is able to identify the different parts of the digestive system of the horse.
The student is able to describe the parts and the function of each part of the digestive system of the horse
The student compare and identify the differences between de digestive system of the cow and the digestive system of the horse
The student is able to develop a team work project to build a model in third dimension of the equine digestive system.

The student is able to present in public the model and explain the function and importance of each part related with the health of the horse and the principal problems that present the horse in your digestive system produced by bad feeding

  1. Tuve el gusto de realizar contigo esta planeación y desde el principio sabia que seria una excelente actividad. Verla hecha realidad es muy agradable y mas cuando puedo imaginarme que tanto aprendieron tus aprendices.

  2. Jairo, I also enjoyed watching this well edited video with a good mix of photos short videos and nice music!
Diverse learning situations: Learning in small groups, learning by doing and interacting with other participants, learning in the classroom (not a traditional one) learning in an authentic environment with the horses.
I would have liked to be able to listen to what you and the students were saying (almost impossible due to the music).
What about the final "presentation" or demonstration made by the students ? I would like to see more pictures and videos of it.
Finally, it is important to describe how your teaching practice went, what went well and what could be done differently or further developed in the future with the next group. This is what we call in our programme the "comprehensive assessment".
Looking forward to reading it. Good luck. David
